What is mindfulness meditation and what to expect:

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.

By being fully present in this way – not forcing things or hiding from them, but actually being with them, we create space to respond in new ways to situations and make wise choices.

We may not always have full control over our lives, but with mindfulness we can work with our minds and bodies, learning how to live with more appreciation and less anxiety.

The ability to regularly take a mindful 'pause' in our lives and become more present can lead to a calmer state of mind.

People who adopt a regular meditation practice state that their stress and anxiety levels are reduced, that concentration and memory is improved, they sleep better and feel happier and more balanced.

During this workshop we will explore a few different meditation techniques in short sessions so that you may experience different approaches and find one that may suit you.

We will perform these sitting so you may want to bring a cosy blanket and a cushion with you to ensure your comfort. You may also bring a pen and notebook if you wish.
